Join our team as an After-School Youth Program Volunteer and make a positive impact on the lives of youth ages 5 to 13!

 Volunteer responsibilities include:

• Create a safe and structured environment supporting daily program activities. 
• Assist with homework and tutoring (as needed)
• Facilitate games and open recreation
• Engage youth in field trips and community involvement opportunities.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own ideas to help develop fun and enriching activities.

Program Hours:

Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 6:30pm
Ages Served: 5 – 13 years old

The volunteer in this role will carry out the same duties as the After-school Youth Program Volunteer-- but with Chinese interpretation as needed.

• Work with students learning Chinese and assist students with their homework in Chinese.
• Create a safe and structured environment supporting daily program activities. 
• Assist with homework and tutoring (as needed)
• Facilitate games and open recreation
• Engage youth in field trips and community involvement opportunities.
• Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own ideas to help develop fun and enriching activities.

Program Hours:

Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 6:30pm
Ages Served: 5 – 13 years old

• Attention to detail: Ensuring accurate completion of benefits applications.
• Communication: Assisting clients in understanding and completing application forms.
• Required: Bilingual in Chinese, Vietnamese, or Spanish.
• Empathy: Sensitivity to the needs and circumstances of clients seeking benefits.
• Organizational skills: Managing paperwork and documentation associated with benefits enrollment. Includes follow-up processes done to ensure that clients were 1) Screened for all potential benefits, 2) Received the benefits that they applied for, and 3) Aware of their renewal date (if applicable).
• Knowledge of benefits systems: Understanding eligibility criteria and application processes.
• Duration: Ongoing, Mondays and/or Wednesdays, 9 AM - 3 PM.

Volunteer for this AAPI Month Event: Mahjong Workshop (Beginner’s Level)

Volunteers will support instructor with facilitating class, including passing out materials, assisting event participants, and completing tasks as directed.

Volunteer for this AAPI Month Event: Vietnamese Eggrolls (Chả giò) Class

Volunteers will support instructor with facilitating class, including passing out materials, assisting event participants, and completing tasks as directed.

Volunteer Responsibilities Include:

• Interact with children in their play, feel free to bring age- appropriate activities/ideas to interact with children
• Encourage children to complete activities, tasks, and habituate themselves to build independence
• Assist teachers in guiding the children
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and structure

Other Important Requirements:

• Must pass Background check
• Must be 14 years old and up. Volunteers 14-16 years of age must have Guardian with them. 

Program Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7:00-11:30am; 2:30-6:30pm; 

Ages Served: Pre-K-1st Grade 

We offer volunteer completion letter, if needed for school. Meals are not provided. Bring refillable bottles for water.

Volunteer Responsibilities Include:

• Citizenship services will have weekly workshops to help clients applying for citizenship.
  • Volunteers are needed during Mondays 10:00 AM-2:00 PM every Monday starting from 3/31-5/26.  
  • Bi-lingual Preference: Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Burmese, etc.
• Phonebanking (calling) and canvassing (door to door knocking) registered voters to inform and educate about when, where, how, and requirements/rules of upcoming elections
  • Help voters identify their polling places
  • Help eligible voters sign up for election reminder emails.
  • Program Hours: Flexible, between 9am-5pm and dependent on Supervisor schedule. Schedule TBD during on-boarding.
